Not All Winery Experiences in Temecula are the Same
Many foster unrealistic expectations that, more often than not, go unmet.
Not so at Carter Estate Winery and Resort. Here, our programming is intentional, immersive, more relaxed and more refined. For many guests, that makes it a standout. For more experienced enthusiasts, it represents a decidedly different way to experience wine country.
This page is designed to help you understand what to expect, how it compares, and whether it’s the right fit for you.
What You’re Really Paying For
Beyond a Standard Wine Tasting
At many wineries, a visit is quick — standing tastings, limited seating, and a focus on moving from one stop to the next.
At Carter Estate, the experience is designed differently:
- Seated, more relaxed tasting environments
- Sparkling wine-focused offerings (including méthode champenoise)
- Access to vineyard views and open space
- The option to extend your visit into a full-day or overnight experience
According to regional tourism sources, the tasting experience here is considered “a cut above the rest” in Temecula’s wine scene.
The value isn’t just in the tasting, it’s in the unhurried pace, the magical setting, and the highly distinctive experience.

Understanding Value in the Temecula Wine Market
Price vs. Experience
Across Temecula, tasting fees and wine prices vary widely depending on the type of experience offered.
- Standard tastings in the region often range across multiple price points, depending on winery style and experience level
- Premium experiences (seated tastings, pairings or estate properties) typically reflect a more curated experience
At Carter Estate:
- Prepare for a highly immersive, truly premium experience
- Value is perceived not through cost, but rather through time well-spent in a serenely bucolic setting
Guest reviews consistently highlight:
- Beautiful grounds and vineyard views
- Spacious accommodations and private patios
- A relaxing, quiet atmosphere ideal for a memorable getaway
For guests seeking a slower, more intentional visit, that difference often defines the value.

We were only there for a short time but it was beautiful, quiet and so peaceful. Wish I would’ve stayed longer.

Love this place. Peace and quiet, lovely views of the vineyard, nice rooms and my favorite is the soaker tub. Located in the middle of wine country but not overly crowded like some of the other resorts.
“Perfect for a quiet getaway, not a party scene.”

Me and my husband visit this location as a simply getaway/ husbands pre-birthday celebration.
I love nature, I love quiet places and carters didn’t disappoint, extremely quiet, absolutely beautiful and the best part super safe, me and my husband were walking at night from our bungalow to the reception and it was amazing.
The room was so cozy and beautiful, extremely spacious and the best part fancy.
Definitely will be coming back, me and my husband were ready to go back the next day 🤭.
Only down thing is the beds could be softer (I don’t like firm mattress I’m more into soft mattress).
Even tho we had neighbors we couldn’t heard them all!!!!
If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful, peaceful place this is it!!!!
“We came for a tasting and ended up booking a night.”
“A little more expensive, but the setting and experience made it worth it.”

Great stay, staff was amazing both on the phone and in person. They truly represent the company well. Pool and spa were very nice, with only two days, we couldn’t take part in all they had to offer. You get what you pay for is a term typically used when you have a poor experience, well it applies here as it was a bit more costly than a typical hotel, but well worth the money! Pay a little more, live a little better!! Thanks Carter!

"Worth every penny!"
Excellent service. Maya was a great help finding out info regarding my friends wedding location. Room was excellent and clean. The food is a whole entire story. Delicious big portions and you get your money's worth. Wow. I definitely would come back here again but for 2 days next time.
